Local Marathon Draws Record Number of Participants

The 30th annual city marathon drew a record 45,230 participants on Sunday, surpassing last year's total by nearly 8,000 runners.

The men's elite race was won by Kenyan runner David Kipchoge in 2:04:32, while Ethiopian Tigist Abera took the women's title with a course record of 2:19:45.

Organizers attributed the record turnout to the ideal running conditions — clear skies and 12°C — and the milestone 30th anniversary of the event.
