Weekend Heatwave Breaks March Records Across Southern Regions

An unusually persistent high-pressure system delivered summer-like conditions to the south this weekend, with Malmö recording 22.4°C on Saturday — the highest March temperature in the city's history.

Parks, beaches, and outdoor cafés saw record crowds, while energy providers reported a spike in cooling-related electricity demand normally reserved for July.

"Enjoy it, but don't ignore what it means," cautioned climatologist Anna-Karin Berg. "We are seeing warm anomalies with increasing frequency and intensity."
