Government Unveils National AI Strategy
A new five-year plan allocates 8 billion SEK to AI research, public-sector adoption, and workforce retraining programmes.

The government today presented a comprehensive national AI strategy aimed at positioning the country as a global leader in responsible artificial intelligence.
The plan earmarks 3 billion SEK for university-led research, 2.5 billion for digitising public services, and 2.5 billion for retraining workers in industries most affected by automation.
Digital Affairs Minister Astrid Engström stressed the ethical dimension: "We will not sacrifice privacy or equity for speed. Trustworthy AI is competitive AI."
