The municipality's new cycling master plan, approved on Monday, will create a continuous network of protected bike lanes linking suburbs to the city core.
The project includes 12 new bicycle bridges, 3,000 secure parking spots, and real-time traffic counters at key junctions. An estimated 15,000 daily car trips are expected to shift to cycling.
"Copenhagen and Amsterdam didn't become cycling cities overnight. This is our start," said transport councillor Henrik Dahl.
